I turn off the lights
Don’t answer the phone
I act as if there’s no one home
The blinds are down
The TV’s off
I sit there stock still
As I hear a knock
I pause a moment
I hold my breath
Then again I hear the sound
The mahogany door pounded down
The bell ringing ominously
Then silence
Silence and my excruciating pain
Watching the knob turn
Slowly, Slowly turning
The creak of the door
The small ray of light
I turn off the lights
Don’t answer the phone
I act as if there’s no one home
The blinds are down
The TV’s off
I sit there stock still
As I hear a knock
I pause a moment
I hold my breath
Then again I hear the sound
The mahogany door pounded down
The bell ringing ominously
Then silence
Silence and my excruciating pain
Watching the knob turn
Slowly, Slowly turning
The creak of the door
The small ray of light
Striking my face

This poem is meant to make you think.
~To the world she is ordinary in truth she is extraordinary~

why is someone coming in?! if they knocked, obviously they don't live there.
...hmm...
*wonders*
They pounded the door down, duh!
Somehow I don't think this is the kind of "thinking" Laurel was getting at...
